The former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Joseph Dosu, has given his support for the U-23 Super Eagles team that will be participating in the men football category at the 2016 Rio Olympics to be hosted in Brazil.
Dosu commented that he expects the Nigerian team to make it out of their group after all matches has been played.
He said, "On paper I will say it is a good draw,"
"But everything will be judged on the pitch because the other teams played a lot of games before qualifying for the Olympics.
"It looks like a good draw for us but preparation towards the competition is what is important.
"The
boys are in camp, the coaches are sweating with the players. It's all
about hard work, determination and dedication to achieve and repeat what
we did in 1996.
"I believe we have the players who can do it for us, all the team need is proper preparation and support."
The Nigeria U-23 team, also known as 'Dream Team VI', were placed in Group B alongside Sweden, Colombia, and Japan.
Nigeria last won the Olympic men football category in 1996. Dosu alongside team mates like Kanu Nwankwo, Sunday Oliseh, won gold medals.
