A Trouble is looming in Idumu-Ille
Quarters, Umunede, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State,
following the alleged murder of one Goody Ndidi Osafiele by his friend
(name withheld) over N800 debt.
The state Police Public Relations
Officer, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the killing, said the
suspect was currently helping the police in their investigation.
It was reliably gathered that the
victim had last Saturday gone to his friend to demand for the payment of
N800 the suspect owed him.
Sources said suspect had refused to pay
his friend when trouble started, leading to hot exchange of words that
later led into a fight.
The suspect reportedly hit his friend with a hard object and he died on the spot.
Osafiele’s family members, who spoke to
our correspondent, said, “We will not take it lightly, the debtor
deliberately killed our son. We will get to the root of the matter.”
